L’idée du projet est très jolie et me plaisait beaucoup, et entre deux cartons j’ai quand même eu le temps de tricoter trois carrés, que vous pourrez voir ici (241, 242, 243).

Je retourne à mes cartons, je risque de ne pas être très présente pendant les deux semaines à venir, mais je vous ai réservé quelques petites surprises !

I loved the idea of Ioulia’s “birthday blanket”, and even if I am moving out of my house these days and quite busy, I found time to knit three little squares for her (241, 242 & 243).

I think my access to Internet will be quite restricted for the weeks to come but I am preparing surprises to help you wait.

1/ cela fait un temps fou que je n’ai rien posté (bon en fait j’ai fait une mini-note ici mais ce n’est pas une excuse, ça).

2/ j’ai un déménagement à préparer et je n’ai RIEN FAIT.

3/ je vais me retrouver sans Internet pendant quelques semaines à cause de 2/.

4/ WordPress m’énerve (pour être polie).

Il y a une solution à tout ça et vous en serez averties bien assez tôt, mais pour l’heure, je ne veux pas vous cacher la vérité et j’ai une chose terrible à avouer.

Well, well, well, I have got loads of things pending and I have not been really serious with this blog lately, but as I am moving to Lyon soon and have done nothing for it yet (and no packing AT ALL), I think I may be excused. And WordPress just tends to make me angry these days so I think there will be some change here once I get my new ADSL connection, down there in Lyon.

OMG I just feel too lazy to write in English and to write at all, sorry folks. Am stuck at home because of a tendinitis so I think I’ll just enjoy this “holiday” to knit and work on my WIPs and especially on my Lady February Sweater. A great project, I will show you some pictures soon.

Et puis un jour j’en ai eu assez et je l’ai terminé. Histoire de pouvoir enfin l’offrir à ma filleule, qui attendait désespérément de pouvoir l’utiliser pour y mettre ses affaires de sport !

Bandoulière et contour doublés avec un biais, cordelière réalisée en Serpentine (Fonty) par le biais d’une i-cord.

Some crochet now… I must admit I am not a great fan of this craft, I find it a bit asymetrical as I prefer working with two needles. This is my first ever “great” project, a bag I started more than a year ago for my goddaughter… In fact, I learned to crochet in order to make the bag she has chosen (I just can’t say no to her…)

The yarn comes from my local yarn store (M’@rt M@ille & Cie, a great one!) and it’s called Didi (from Lammy Yarns). It is quite nice to crochet and I was happy with the result except it turned out really huge but Nina is happy with it so that’s the most important thing, after all… !

Je suis vraiment très embêtée là, je ne sais pas du tout comment je vais faire.

Oui, l’heure est grave.

Le nouveau Knitty est sorti.

Et c’est la catastrophe.

Il y a au moins un, deux, trois (bon en fait tous les modèles de chaussettes, donc on peut en rajouter quatre à la liste), huit modèles qui me plaisent.

Et ça c’est juste un premier aperçu.

I instantly fell in love with ALL the sock patterns (there are four of them, yes, four). And I just don’t mention others like Camden or opart.

I am now seriously thinking of quitting sleep. What do you reckon?

Bon. Revenons à nos moutons. J’en avais parlé ici, j’ai enfin terminé mon petit cadeau en laine Regia Bamboo qui a fini… sur les pieds de ma mère. Ben oui, une paire de chaussettes toute douce comme cadeau d’anniversaire c’est plutôt pas mal non ? En tout cas elles ont bien plu à Maman !

Petit récap :

Socquettes tricotées avec aiguilles double pointe (2,25), modèle Véronique de Tricofolk (que je recommande, particulièrement aux personnes n’ayant jamais tricoté de chaussettes ! Celui de Marimi est très bien aussi, mais pour moi qui déteste les rangs raccourcis, c’est un peu moins drôle…)

Fil Regia Bamboo acheté en Allemagne. Une pelote pour la paire visible sur la photo, autant dire qu’elle va loin !!!

So here I am again, getting rid of some WIPs and trying to eradiknit a bit of my stash. In fact, I have got many things to show you and some might say this is just another excuse to claim: “Hey, with all those projects I finished, I might need more yarn, let’s go and buy some just in case!” Am I really that kind of knitter? … I am afraid I am…

But let’s get back to serious things. Here comes a pair of socks I knitted for my mother’s birthday. I used Regia Bamboo yarn and I must admit I just fell in love with it. It’s really light, the touch is wonderful and I have been knitting, undoing and re-knitting my work because I had to make them longer than I had foreseen to, and I can tell this yarn is remarkably strong. So I can only recommend it, for socks or other things.

The pattern comes from the French website Tricofolk and has sadly not been translated into English but you can also use Marimi‘s explanations which are bilingual, and will give you a great result too (except that I am not a great fan of short rows, which is why I prefer to use the Tricofolk pattern).

That’s it! My mother was really delighted with her present so I think I may knit some more socks for her for Christmas. I will be back in a few days to show you more things.

Okay, fair enough, I won’t be denying it, I have been a naughty knitter again.

I am already overloaded with projects but I just couldn’t help getting enrolled in two more French knit-alongs.

The first one is called Autumn Fever (in English in the text :p) and is just aimed at knitting a fancy autumn accessory (bag, scarf, gloves or mittens, shawl, wrap, shrug, socks, you name it).

The other one is dedicated to the famous February Lady Sweater by Pamela Wynne. This pattern will soon be a must-have among French knitters, I think, as there are already two knit-alongs for it!

Bye for now but I’ll be back this week-end with lots of things to show you (someone is killing WIPs faster than she would have thaught, it seems…)

Alors…

1/ Je finis tous mes encours avant d’attaquer quoi que ce soit d’autre. Ce qui fait quand même… 7/8 projets je dirais. Mais trois finis d’ici ce week-end, je vais ptet négocier avec moi-même.

2/ Je suis sur Ravelry et je l’utilise énormément, il y a des liens vers mon blog et je me dis que  les lecteurs anglophones doivent s’y trouver un peu perdus. Plus, tous les modèles que je traduis (quelques publications courant septembre si tout va bien, j’en ai trois au moins en standby) sont adaptés de l’anglais, donc si le créateur/la créatrice veut venir vérifier que je m’y connais un minimum, à part les photos il/elle n’a pas vraiment de moyen de savoir… Donc à partir du 1e septembre ce blog sera bilingue français/anglais. Je ferais bien un trilingue français/anglais/espagnol (ou un bilingue français/espagnol d’ailleurs,) mais n’ayons pas les yeux plus gros que le ventre.

3/ Je me calme sur les achats de laine, mon stock a dû doubler de volume depuis l’année dernière (et pourtant c’était déjà fête, rappelez-vous)… mais pas avant fin septembre. J’ai mes raisons (il y en a une qui me lit et qui se marre, je pense).

Bon, si déjà j’arrive à tenir à peu près tout ça, c’est pas mal.

Zou. Plus de nouvelles et certainement des choses à vous montrer ce week-end ou en début de semaine prochaine.
